Two ways to delete your account
Deleting from inside the app is the fastest route and takes effect immediately. If you cannot open the app, email us instead — both routes lead to the same deletion.
Delete inside the app
Open Plunge Tracker and go to:
Settings → Account → Delete Account
You will be asked to confirm once by tapping Delete Forever. Your account and data are deleted straight away and you are signed out.
Email your request
Send us an email from the address you use to sign in to Plunge Tracker and we will delete the account for you.
Email a deletion requestOr write to hello@tappect.com yourself.
Deletion is immediate and permanent
Plunge Tracker does not hold deleted accounts in a recovery window. When you confirm, your account and its data are removed from our systems right away and cannot be restored — not by you, and not by us.
Your session history, streaks and badges are gone for good. Signing up again later creates a fresh, empty account.
Before you delete
- Cancel your subscription separately. Deleting your account does not cancel a Plunge Tracker Premium subscription, because billing is handled by Apple and Google rather than by us. Cancel it in App Store → your name → Subscriptions on iOS, or Google Play → Payments & subscriptions on Android. If you delete your account without cancelling, you will keep being billed.
- Refunds are not automatic. Any refund for time already paid for is handled by Apple or Google under their own policies.
- Data written to Apple Health or Health Connect stays there. Plunge Tracker only reads from those apps, so nothing needs removing — but any health data you manage there is unaffected by deleting your account.
- Disconnect Strava if you want to revoke access at their end too. We delete the authorisation token we hold, which stops any further syncing. Activities already sent to Strava remain in your Strava account and are managed there.
What to include in your email
So we can identify your account and confirm the request is genuine, please include:
- The email address of your Plunge Tracker account — the Google or Apple account you use to sign in.
- Send it from that address if you can. It is the quickest way for us to verify ownership. If you no longer have access to it, tell us and we will ask for other details instead.
- The platform you used — Android or iOS.
- Subject line: Plunge Tracker Account Deletion Request — this routes your message correctly.
Send to: hello@tappect.com
We reply within: 30 days, usually much sooner.
We only use the details in your email to verify and action the deletion request.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account removes your Plunge Tracker account and everything stored against it, including:
- Profile and account information — Your name, email address, profile photo, language, timezone and sign-in identity
- Session history — Every cold plunge, sauna, contrast, shower and cryotherapy session you logged, including durations, temperatures, notes, locations and photos
- Check-in and wellbeing data — Mood, energy and feeling ratings recorded before and after your sessions
- Biometric data — Heart rate, HRV, skin temperature, respiratory rate and blood oxygen readings captured during sessions from Apple Health, Health Connect or a connected heart rate monitor
- Streaks — Your overall streak and your cold, heat and contrast category streaks
- Badges and progress — Every badge you earned and all partial progress towards unearned badges
- Programs and challenges — Acclimatization program enrolments, day-by-day progress and any challenges you joined
- Preferences and settings — Temperature units, weekly goal, default durations and temperatures, reminder times and notification preferences
- Connected devices — Wearable connections and any stored authorisation tokens for services you linked, including Strava
- Notification records — Your notification settings and the history of notifications sent to you
- On-device data — The offline copy of your sessions, streaks and settings stored on your phone and Apple Watch is erased at the same time
Once deletion completes, this data cannot be recovered and your account can no longer be used to sign in.
What is kept after deletion
We keep as little as possible. After deletion completes:
- Support messages, feedback and app ratings you submitted are kept so we can act on reported problems and honour any ongoing support conversation. Tell us in your deletion request if you would like these removed as well and we will delete them too.
- Encrypted backups may still contain your data for a short period until they age out. They are not used to restore your account and are deleted within 90 days.
- Anonymised and aggregated usage statistics may remain. These contain no information that identifies you and cannot be linked back to your account.
- Records we are legally required to keep — for example, purchase and billing records. Those are held by Google Play or the Apple App Store rather than by us, and their own retention rules apply.
For the full picture, see the Plunge Tracker Privacy Policy.
Want to delete only some of your data?
You do not have to delete your whole account to remove individual records:
- A single session — open it from the Progress tab and delete it there. Its biometric readings go with it.
- Your profile details — edit or clear your name and photo in Settings → Profile.
- A connected device or service — disconnect it in Settings → Connected Devices to delete the stored authorisation.
For anything else, email hello@tappect.com and tell us what you would like removed. Your account stays active.
